In India students are subjected to stress and anxiety throughout exams for their boards and at graduation. Because of peer pressure some even suffer from anxiety and emotional trauma after high school and even college. Indian children are pushed by parents and teachers to perform more than their peers. They are often compared to their peers with their peers, which can cause the children to be depressed.

It is a fact that the Indian school system in India is highly competitive that is based entirely on quantitative learning, long classes, and the availability of a wide course.

The educational system in the United States is focused on quantity and not quality. It is textbook-driven and does not attempt to enhance the performance of pupils. Instead, it is focused on making students crammers labeled as better. The current education system does not make any effort to encourage the student’s imagination.

A lot of lives have been lost because of stress of being disciplined and perfect. Therefore every teacher and parent should be aware of and understand the child’s needs. In addition the high cost of a commercialized education system has greatly contributed to the stress and depression of students.

Let’s improve education to ensure that students enjoy no stress in schools.

The role of the teacher in Student Counseling

It is possible for an educator to play the role of a counselor? What is the reason? To begin, a teacher must be aware of the importance of counseling students prior to when they begin teaching.

Teachers are the only ones who are the ones who can influence how their pupils’ lives. In this regard, their role is vital because they have a better comprehension of a student’s strengths and weaknesses. This could help them to identify the possibility of changes in personality.

Teachers are special. They possess a positive attitude and are open to the struggles of their students. The best instructors assume the role of a counselor to assist students in developing their full personality. They can aid them in establishing talks and allow children to share their worries and concerns. For students, the teacher’s task as a counsellor or a guide is much more crucial.

What can teachers do to act as student counsellors?

1) Establish a rapport:

It is possible to establish a pleasant connection with your students by making them feel comfortable and then chatting. Teachers should ensure that students know that they’re talking to an individual who is trustworthy and can easily solve their issues.

2) Students can communicate:

Teachers must help students develop their confidence in themselves to discuss their worries and concerns with them. Teachers should be attentive to a student’s struggles and problems and assist him overcome these issues by giving suitable solutions.

3) Be confidential:

The teacher should be someone that students can be confident in. Students can rely on you. It is a good idea to make sure to keep information about one particular student private. If a student is able to confidence in their teacher they’ll be willing to share the issues they have.

4.) Consistency in the emotion:

As a counselor as a counselor, you need to keep an emotional consistency in your thoughts and feelings. No matter if the instructor is good or bad mood, they need to constantly assist the students who come to them.

5.) Develop the ability to not judge

Teachers should be sympathetic to the student and be concerned for their health and well-being, without being judgmental or too personal. Make sure that the student feels valued and heard.

In the end it, we are able to appreciate the importance of counselling students at schools today and beyond, not just in terms of education , but also in terms of a child’s general personality.
