Kiara Advani Biography: Age, Height, Movie, Boyfriend

Kabir Singh (2019) and Shershaah (2020) were the movies that gained more public attention. Even her outstanding performance in ‘cheez badi’ from Machine (2017) was remarkable.

Early years and history

Kiara Advani is the daughter of Jagdeep Advani, a Sindhi businessman, and Genevieve Jaffrey, an educator. Her first film, Fugly, was published in 2014. Advani’s younger brother, Mishaal, is the oldest of two brothers. Artists Ashok Kumar is her step-great-grandfather and Saeed Jaffrey is her great-uncle, respectively, as well as her aunt, a model, Shaheen Jaffrey. Genevieve Advani’s stepmother is Bharti Ganguly, Ashok Kumar’s granddaughter.

Early career years (2014–19)

Advani debuted on-screen in the Hindi cast comedy Fugly (2014). “Kiara catches you unaware,” Bollywood Hungama’s Taran Adarsh said, adding that she has that she is indeed a beauty with brains, viz, a good combination of both looks and talent!

Advani made her major recognition with the Hindi drama film M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), the biography of Indian cricketer M. S. Dhoni, who is the team’s former captain. She played the real-life wife of Dhoni’s role, hotel manager Sakshi Rawat, alongside Sushant Singh Rajput (who played Dhoni). M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story was a critical and commercial triumph, crossing more than 216 crores (US$28 million) worldwide. Advani made her solo debut next year as Mustafa Burmawalla’s longtime girlfriend in Abbas–action Mustan’s film Machine (2017).

At the box office, it bombed terribly. Advani then made her first foray into OTT by collaborating with producer and director Karan Johar in the Netflix anthological Hindi movie Lust Stories (2018), in which she acted with Vicky Kaushal as his sexually unhappy wife. Her performance was met with mixed reviews. Raja Sen, writing for NDTV, thought she was “positively lovely” in there. She also starred alongside Shahid Kapoor in their debut song video “Urvashi,” which was a big chartbuster and included Yo Yo Honey Singh.

That year, Advani moved to Telugu cinema, starring alongside Mahesh Babu in Koratala Siva’s sociopolitical action thriller Bharat Ane Nenu (2018), about just a student that unexpectedly becomes Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister. According to India Today’s Janani K, she “glows in her brief appearance,” although her character is “more than just an ocular who still doesn’t add any value to the tale.”

The film grossed 225 crores (US$30 million) worldwide, ranking this one of the Telugu theatre’s highest-grossing films. However, she was unable to repeat her triumph with Overarching Srinu’s Vinaya But only Rama, which did not do as well as planned. With her return to Hindi film in April 2019, she was featured in an extended appearance opposite Varun Dhawan in Abhishek Varman’s cast time saga Kalank, which was produced by Johar.

Ascension to prominence (2019)

Later in June 2019, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s passionate love story Kabir Singh, featuring Shahid Kapoor as the titular man and Kiara as his girlfriend Preeti Sikka, who leaves him to marry somebody else under her family’s force, provoking him to be an addict on a self-destructive track, received wider attention.

Despite being panned by reviewers for its representation of sexism and toxic masculinity, the film was the most surprising all-time blockbuster of 2019, grossing over 378 crores (US$50 million) worldwide and becoming her highest-grossing film.

Her final role in the 2019 year was in socialite Raj Mehta’s film Good Newz, in which she acted alongside Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, as well as Diljit Dosanjh and was about two couples who tried in vitro fertilization. Kabir Singh and Good Newz both made over 200 crores across India, marking these two of the year with the top Hindi films.

Advani’s performance in Johar’s other production, Guilty, the Netflix film on sexual assault, received mixed reviews in 2020. She also played Akshay Kumar’s spouse in Raghava Lawrence’s light entertainment Laxmii in the year 2020, in which Kumar’s character is haunted by a transgender spirit.

Laxmi was released straight on Hotstar instead of in theatres due to the COVID-19 epidemic and garnered mixed reviews. Indoor Ki Jawani (2020), produced by Abir Sengupta and featuring Advani as just a Ghaziabad-based girl who finds love on online dating, is one of the first Bollywood films to still be released in theatres after the pandemic’s theater reopening and while the 50 percent capacity rule is in effect.

Advani then starred as Vikram Batra’s girlfriend in Dharma Productions’ war drama Shershaah (2021), which was based on a true story of military officer Vikram Batra (played by Sidharth Malhotra). The film was published digitally via Amazon Prime Video, where it quickly became India’s most-watched film.
